Amy Ames, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC is a nurse practitioner who is Board Certified by the American Nurse Credentialing Center. Dr. Ames is originally from Rochester Hills but moved to Chicago to attend college and remained there for 13+ years. While in Chicago, she received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Roosevelt University and then received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Resurrection University, where she graduated with honors. Dr. Ames went on to receive her Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing from Rush University.

Dr. Ames received her training at Rush University Medical Center, a nationally ranked major medical center, with several physicians and nurse practitioners. She incorporates her experience as a Registered Nurse on an inpatient child and adolescent psychiatric unit at Rush.Dr. Ames’ areas of interest include attention deficit/hyperactivity and impulse control disorders, behavioral disorders, mood and anxiety disorders. She treats patients of all ages, but is particularly passionate about children and adolescents. She works collaboratively with her patients and their families.In her free time, Dr. Ames enjoys cooking, movies, spending time with her family, and playing with her two French bulldogs.
