Emma Buzzard, MA, LPC

Emma is a licensed professional counselor who obtained her Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Wayne State University and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan. She is experienced in the treatment of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, schizophrenia/schizoaffective disorder, insomnia, and issues in grief/loss. She enjoys working with adults, teens, children (ages 8+), and families. Emma is skilled in using cognitive behavioral therapy and supports clients with many tangible resources to enhance work completed in therapy sessions. Emma also specializes in the use of art therapy, which can add a dynamic and expressive element to psychotherapy for clients of all ages. Emma completed the graduate program in art therapy at Wayne State University, and she is passionate about the healing benefits of including creativity in mental health treatment. Emma's research contributions have been published in the peer-reviewed journal, Frontiers in Psychology and in the book, Social Work Research Using Arts-Based Methods.
