Overcoming Negative Self Talk

Have you ever missed an appointment and then internally beat yourself up? Maybe you’ve said to yourself- “this always happens to me, I am such a horrible mom, I am such an idiot…” the list of judgmental and critical thoughts goes on and on. RCBM's Jessyca Blase, LLMSW provides the following helpful tips to conquer negative self talk. 


Next time you catch yourself being self-critical, I want you to ask yourself: If my friend or a loved one were in this situation and turned to me for support, would I tell them the same things that I would tell myself? 

The answer is most often, no!

Work to reframe these critical thoughts and notice how this impacts your mood. With enough time and practice this can become a natural process.
