Kaca Popovic, MA, LPC

Katarina "Kaca" Popovic received her Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Wayne State University and Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Michigan State University. She is also a certified teacher, specializing in history and political science, and has taught counseling courses at TRIO Upward Bound in Detroit. Kaca has a great deal of experience in facilitating teen outreach groups. She works with adolescent and adult populations, along with providing marital therapy.

Kaca uses the empirically validated cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) treatment modality and works within the medical model. CBT resonates with Kaca as she feels that if you shift the way you think (cognition), you shift the way you feel about yourself, and in turn, shift the way you behave - a cause and effect/action and reaction. She believes that attitude is highly instrumental in shifting the way you feel, think and act.

Kaca’s areas of clinical interest include depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, eating disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder.
