A Message from Joel L. Young, M.D.:
Over the years, I have been asked by numerous companies to work with other physicians about updates in the field of psychiatry. Typically, a pharmaceutical company will ask me to educate a group of clinicians about a disease state or a new medication. It has always been my policy not to have an exclusive relationship with any company. My interest is in discussing disease states and the potential use of medications and other therapies that help patients.
Some people believe that physicians should not be involved in educating their colleagues. I disagree entirely. A forum to discuss updates in medicine is what keeps doctors sharp and informed. I am happy to tell you about my role in this regard. Listed below are my 2010/2011 speaker and research affiliations. Please feel free to ask me about these at any time.
