Important information on Vyvanse and other ADHD medication issues

Dear Patients, as of late August 2023, Vyvanse now has a generic option the market - called lisdexamfetamine. We have recently learned that many insurance companies removed the brand name Vyvanse from their formularies, even before pharmacies have the generic version in stock. This was a premature move, which will inevitably cause many issues for patients and doctors.

This change comes amidst a national shortage of all ADHD medications. In the last several months we have needed to substitute the majority of our patients on different medications. This has created an exponential increase in the number of pre-authorizations we are managing.

We are sharing this to make you aware, and to let you know that we are working hard to determine how we can best help our patients on Vyvanse specifically, and ADHD medication in general. We appreciate your patience with our staff as we navigate these issues alongside you.

This article offers some additional information about the Vyvanse issue.
