Elizabeth Sweet, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Elizabeth earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2014 from the University of Michigan, where she began her career on the child and adolescent inpatient unit at Michigan Medicine. This foundational experience: working with eating disorders, neurodevelopmental disabilities, and high-acuity crisis intervention, shaped her holistic approach to psychiatric care.

After earning her Master’s degree in 2019 from the University of South Alabama, Elizabeth transitioned to outpatient care, where she integrates mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and comprehensive medication education into every visit. Elizabeth recently achieved her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Duke University. Her doctoral research focused specifically on stimulant adherence in adolescents utilizing telehealth, making her a specialized resource for families navigating ADHD treatment in a digital age.

Elizabeth is deeply passionate about pediatric mental health, hormone-related mood disorders, and supporting the neurodivergent community. She believes in a family-centered model of care, viewing parent involvement as a cornerstone of successful outcomes. A hallmark of her practice is a "whole-body" approach to mental wellness; she believes in the vital connection between physical and mental health and frequently explores how medical and physiological factors affect mood and stability.

In addition to her clinical practice, Elizabeth is a dedicated preceptor for future Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, fueled by a mission to elevate the nursing profession through doctoral-level education and mentorship.
