Riley Ubben, LMSW

I am a psychotherapist and clinical social worker with a Masters of Social Work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I offer individual therapy for adults seeking relief from depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, anger, or interpersonal difficulties. When meeting with adolescents, I prefer to start from a family systems modality or family therapy. We may discuss diagnoses, including ADHD, autism spectrum, or personality disorder, in search of personal insights or solutions to immediate problems.

Each stage of life presents unique challenges. When you feel lost, a reflective practice can shed light on the path forward. We’ll begin with a consultation and consider goals, then meet periodically at a pace you’re comfortable with. I recommend keeping a journal outside of sessions to record memories of your inner life and behavioral patterns. Together in sessions, we will interpret your experiences alongside RCBM diagnostic data toward self-understanding and healing. I have witnessed incredible growth through this process.

The mind is powerful, yet it can easily turn against itself. Psychotherapy can teach you to observe life with curiosity and compassion. You will learn to communicate more effectively and make decisions with intention. You will come to better understand your emotions, not just to regulate them, but to identify your needs and improve your relationships. Developing these skills takes time, but they are essential to living your fullest life. Let’s talk!
