The Joel L. Young, MD Award for Excellence in Psychiatry
The purpose of this Fund is to provide awards to full-time students enrolled in the School of Medicine who are in good academic standing, are in years III or IV and have an expressed interest in psychiatry. Recipients may use awards for tuition and other educational expenses.
Here is an article in the Wayne State News about the scholarship program.
Each year, the Joel L. Young, MD Award for Excellence in Psychiatry honors outstanding senior medical students from Wayne State University School of Medicine who have demonstrated exceptional promise in the field of psychiatry.
Founded and endowed by Dr. Joel L. Young, this award encourages the next generation of mental health professionals to pursue careers in psychiatry and neuroscience—fields where compassionate, innovative care is more essential than ever.
These future psychiatrists were honored at the Wayne State commencement ceremony and exemplify the dedication, empathy, and leadership that define the field.
From all of us at RCBM, congratulations to this year’s winners—and thank you for choosing a path that changes lives.
