Meet the Team – Kendra Shackelton, LMSW
Kendra Shackelton, a Licensed Social Worker, is passionate about mental health and specializes in treating eating disorders, depression, anxiety and substance abuse. She’s one of the newest members of the RCBM team.

“I chose to work in the mental health field because I have always felt a calling to help others,” she says. “I like the idea of being able to work one-on-one with individuals to provide hope, hear their stories and work together with them to achieve therapeutic goals. It is rewarding just to know that people feel heard and validated after meeting with me as that is one of my major goals.”
A mother of four, Kendra grew up in the Royal Oak area. Her family moved to Arizona for three years and returned to Michigan in the summer of 2020. She often reads about mental health and stays up to date on treatments and research.
“It’s very easy to get lost in our own worlds, responsibilities and all, but I encourage everyone to find someone they can talk to freely as a way to get to know themselves and to spend time alone (not isolating) to be comfortable with themselves,” she says.
Kendra earned her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Michigan and her undergraduate degree, also in Social Work, from Wayne State University. She has been practicing for more than ten years.
Please join us in welcoming Kendra to the RCBM team!
