Clinical Trial - Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety and Insomnia

Syndeio Biosciences is conducting a clinical trial on the experimental drug Zelquistinel in patients with Major Depressive Disorder with Comorbid Anxiety and Insomnia. Many people with depression do not experience enough improvement with current treatments or have side effects that limit their use. This study is evaluating the above investigational medication that targets the brain in a different way than some common antidepressants, with the goal of developing a faster-acting and better-tolerated treatment option for depression.

Eligible subjects will participate in this study for up to 15 weeks: up to 4 weeks for screening, 6 weeks for double-blind treatment, and about a 4-week follow-up period following the final study site visit. Participants will take one tablet of GATE-251 or a placebo every week for 6 weeks. Participants will visit the clinic every week of the 6-week period to have the severity of their depression evaluated. Visit length will vary 3 - 7 hours per on-site visit.

To be able to take part, a person must:

  • Have been diagnosed with MDD by a medical professional
  • Be between 18 and 64 years old
  • Have been feeling down, sad, and/or have lost interest in things you usually enjoy
  • Have been feeling anxious and having trouble sleeping
  • Have been experiencing these feelings for at least 3 weeks
  • Have not had relief after taking no more than 1 depression medication for your current episode, or have never been treated for your current depressive episode

This is not a complete list of study eligibility requirements. Following completion of the survey, study staff will review the complete list of requirements if eligible.
