Alli Smith, LMSW, CCTP

Alli Smith attended Grand Valley State University where she obtained a Master’s degree in Social Work, along with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice. Alli is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Michigan. She is also a certified trauma professional and trained in EMDR (approved by EMDRIA). She works primarily with adults and has extensive experience working with survivors of violence that have experienced trauma along with complex traumas in childhood and throughout adulthood. Additionally, she has worked with individuals that have experienced feelings of anxiety and depression, ADHD, and self-esteem issues, along with life transitions and those who have experienced additional life barriers.  

 Alli’s empathetic and non-judgmental approach provides a safe space for individuals to express themselves honestly, as she gets to understand their true feelings while working together on their journey to process and heal. Alli believes that the story and experiences that each individual holds is unique to each person. She uses a variety of therapeutic approaches and treatment modalities catered to each person’s needs. These approaches include trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, Somatic & Attachment Focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (SAFE EMDR), motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness-based therapy. Alli also uses a strengths based approach to empower her patients.
