Kasey Downing, LLMSW
Kasey Downing, LLMSW, is a licensed therapist in the state of Michigan with a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan, where she also completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology.
Kasey specializes in working with anxiety, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, high-achieving professionals, and relationship concerns. Many of her clients are thoughtful, self-aware individuals who feel stuck in cycles of overthinking, self-criticism, or internal pressure, and who are seeking deeper insight rather than surface-level coping strategies alone. She provides LGBTQ+ affirming and trauma-informed care.
Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, direct, and insight-oriented. Kasey integrates cognitive, behavioral, and relational frameworks with emerging parts-based work, helping clients better understand their internal experiences and the different “parts” of themselves that arise in moments of stress, doubt, or conflict.
Kasey also incorporates existential and schema-based perspectives into therapy, supporting clients as they explore questions related to identity, meaning, values, and life direction. Kasey believes therapy is most effective when it not only reduces symptoms but also creates space for deeper reflection, exploration, and intentional decision-making.
Kasey strives to create a therapeutic environment that feels grounded, thoughtful, and honest- a space where clients can slow down, examine long-standing patterns, and work towards meaningful, sustainable change.
