Matthew Barsenas, LMSW, JD

Matthew Barsenas, LMSW, JD, graduated from Wayne State University with a Master's degree in Social Work. He is a licensed social worker in the state of Michigan and is EMDR trained. Before making his home at the Rochester Center for Behavioral Medicine, he was a case manager at The Heat and Warmth Fund and worked at the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Matthew also worked as a litigation attorney in private practice for over ten years. He has handled cases across many practice areas, including family law, personal injury, and criminal law.

Matthew is an action-oriented therapist who collaborates with his patients to help them process difficult emotions and life histories, gain insight and understanding about their behavior and thinking, and make concrete plans to achieve their goals. He enjoys helping patients build and strengthen their relationships, navigate life's transitions, and make difficult decisions. Matthew works with individuals with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD, substance use disorder, and life management/relationship issues.
