Mckenzie Lopez, LMSW
Mckenzie Lopez obtained her Master's degree in Social Work from Saginaw Valley State University and currently holds a license in the state of Michigan. She has experience as a clinical therapist in high-acuity settings such as Havenwyck Partial Hospitalization Program and Starfish Community Mental Health.
Mckenzie is passionate about providing care to individuals from early childhood to adulthood who need additional support. She identifies her clinical strengths in working with attention deficit-hyperactive disorder, depression, anxiety, life transitions, and bipolar disorder. Mckenzie seeks to develop a strong therapeutic alliance with her clients to provide effective psychotherapy. She believes the therapeutic space should allow clients to feel safe, validated, and fulfilled in their everyday lives. She uses a solution-focused and person-centered approach to better understand personal strengths, preferences, and needs when engaging in sessions. McKenzie feels that it is important to use a variety of evidence-based practices, including but not limited to cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, DBT ( emotional regulation skills) and behavioral therapy. She acknowledges that each client is an expert on their life and only seeks to help provide strategies and tools to enhance their overall well-being.
