What, if anything can I trust on social media about ADHD?
Joel L. Young, MD's presentation at The American Professional Society of ADHD and Related Disorders (APSARD) examined several of the most common ADHD narratives that are gaining traction online and explored how they're influencing real-world clinical encounters.
Topics included the pathologizing of common human experiences, misconceptions surrounding executive dysfunction, the misuse of medication response as diagnostic evidence, assumptions about high-functioning ADHD, and the challenges of navigating self- diagnosis.
